Moderator: Terry E. Carter, Senior Client Manager - Boston office, INROADS New England Region, Inc.

Resume writing has never been easier... learn the proven methods used by the professionals!

A winning resume is creative and concise. During this workshop you will receive a bit of advice to keep in mind as you develop the winning resume. Some of the tips covered are:

  • A resume does not need to be wordy in order to showcase your talents and skills.
  • The strategy that you must hold onto the same tired resume foundation and format is no longer true.
  • Bulleted items, instead of wordy paragraphs, can especially assist in drawing the eye toward your unique strengths.
  • A few well, crafted sentences can go a long way toward setting you apart from the crowd of other job seekers.
  • The use of tinted good quality paper can make your resume stand out from the stack, even before the recruiter picks it up to read it.

Remember, you have one opportunity to impress the employer enough that he or she puts down your resume with the idea that they absolutely must interview you. Let this workshop help make your resume be the one that impresses the recruiter.

How to get the Stock Market to Work for You!

Presenters:
Moderator: Mr. Dexter Jenkins, Financial Consultant - Primerica Financial Services
Panelist: Mr. Pedro L. Fontes, Second Vice President - Wealth Management, Citi Smith Barney
Panelist: Mr. William F. O’Donnell CFP, Agent - New York Life Insurance Company
Panelist: Mr. Gerald Loftin, Financial Consultant - Renaissance Financial Group, LLC

When many of us read the newspaper or look at TV, we avoid the highlights regarding the stock market. Although we have a 401K, which means we are invested in the stock market, we still do not understand it. What’s even more puzzling is some individuals view the stock market as a place for “gamblers” and the “fool” hearted.

This workshop will provide some of the basics of understanding the stock market. Some of the goals of this workshop is to communicate the following:

1). What is the NASDAC or the New York Stock Exchange

2). How to read the stock market

3). How to pick stocks on an individual basis

4) How to conclude if you want a 401K that is aggressive, moderate or low risk

5). Review some basic stock market terms (i.e. what is a bullish market)

As noted, the intent of this workshop is to improve your awareness of the stock market, as well as identify how you can get the stock market to work for you. To this end, we have selected panelists for this workshop that are excited to communicate, in an easy to understand manner, the basic of the stock market.
