Charles E. Summers, Jr.
New England Regional Administrator
U.S. Small Business Administration

Charles E. Summers, Jr. was sworn in as the New England Regional Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration on March 7, 2005. In this capacity he manages SBA District Offices in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont and has oversight of the SBA's Financing, Marketing and Outreach efforts in the six-state region.

Prior to assuming his current position with the SBA, Mr. Summers served as State Director for United States Senator Olympia Snowe from 1995 to 2004. Charlie served both as a trusted advisor and a strong advocate for Mainers who needed help navigating federal agencies. His knowledge of, and close interaction with, federal and state agencies, military installations, veterans' service organizations and key business leaders, made him an extraordinarily effective advocate.

In 1990 Summers was elected to the Maine State Senate (District 31) and served on the Joint Standing Committees on Legal Affairs and Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Upon re-election in 1992 he served as the ranking member on the Joint Standing Committee on Taxation.

Growing up in the family's hotel business and later managing motels in Bangor and South Portland, as well as owning and running his own small businesses, Summers has firsthand knowledge and understanding of issues facing New England and America's entrepreneurs.

Mr. Summers and his wife, Ruth, reside in Scarborough with their two children; Tricia, a junior at Queen's University and Chas, a junior at Scarborough High School.

Rev. James E. Collins is the Senior Pastor of EAGLE HEIGHTS CHURCH in Revere, MA, just minutes from Boston. He is a dynamic pastor with a compassion for people, communities, our nation and the world. Pastor Collins is a man who continually strives for excellence as he reaches out to the hurting and lost. He believes that God truly is great and is worthy of our best. Humbly accepting the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, Pastor Collins is an anointed preacher and leader. In addition to being the pastor of this thriving congregation of 1400+, Pastor Collins, who is ordained with the General Council of the Assemblies of God, has served as a Presbyter in the Southern New England District of the Assemblies of God, overseeing a fellowship of churches in the Northeastern Massachusetts Section.

Pastor Collins exceptional gift of preaching is accompanied by the spiritual gifts of healing and prophecy. Pastor Collins’ Godly character and visionary leadership has been recognized in both Christian and secular circles. He has been honored by being listed multiple times in “Who’s Who in Executives & Professionals”; receiving the first ever “Pennsylvania’s Father of the Year” award from the internationally renowned Father’s Workshop; receiving the U.S. Postal Service award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Community”; and being listed in “Outstanding Young Men of America”.

Pastor Collins is a graduate of Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. With well over 20 years of ministry experience, He has served as Youth Pastor in the Southern New England District in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He was also the founding Pastor of Family Worship Center in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Collins greatest honor is being married to his lovely wife, Brenda for over 20 years. He is a Man of God with a heart for family. Pastor and Brenda Collins have two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Shawna.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Brooke E. Woodson

Brooke E. Woodson is the Director of the City of Boston’s Small and Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) Office

Mr. Woodson was born on July 21, 1964 to Freeman A. Woodson, Jr. and Shirley Redd Woodson. He graduated cum laude from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and earned a Master’s Degree in Urban Affairs at Boston University.

Mr. Woodson’s professional career began in 1987 when he was hired as a Legislative Aide in Office of the Boston City Council President. Mr. Woodson worked on the City Council for five years culminating in his appointment as Chief of Staff to Councilor Bruce C. Bolling. Mr. Woodson also worked for the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts as Director of the “Ten Demandments” community empowerment project and for Boston Mayor Raymond L. Flynn as the local coordinator of the “Save Our Cities, Save Our Children” march on Washington D.C.

In 1993, Woodson was asked by then Acting Mayor Thomas M. Menino to join his staff. Woodson served as a Special Assistant to the Mayor. After Mayor Menino was in November 1993, he appointed Woodson as the Executive Secretary of his Transition Team.

In June of 1994, Mayor Menino appointed Woodson as Director of the Minority And Women Business Enterprise Office and in 1995 expanded his duties to include Director of Boston Residents Jobs Policy Office and the Boston Employment Commission. In these capacities, Woodson and his capable staff have helped expand jobs and economic opportunities for Boston residents, people of color and women. He has also served as Clerk on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Alliance for Small Development Corporation in Roxbury. Woodson serves as Co-Chairman of the City of Boston’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute Planning Committee and the African American Achievement Awards Committee.

Robert Watkins

He resides in Atlanta with his wife of 12 years, Evelyn, and two daughters, Gabrielle and Noelle.
