Description of Workshops - B2B Symposium 2005

Workshop A
10:00am - 11:30am

"Marketing Strategies to Tap into
the Growing Buying Power of the Latino Community"

According to new estimates by HispanTelligence®, the "U.S. Hispanic purchasing power has surged to nearly $700 billion and is projected to reach as much as $1 trillion by 2010."
So you're wondering, as many others are, how your business can benefit from this opportunity?

This workshop is geared towards helping businesses answer this question. As a business owner, you will be challenged to adjust your company's strategic planning in order to successfully tap into the buying power of the Hispanic community. From marketing, to networking, and the strategic placement of your products, this workshop will help you gain a better understanding of what it takes to tap into the Latino consumer market.

Come prepared to learn from companies that have made the transition of successfully marketing their products or services to Latinos. Workshop panelists include: New York Life Insurance Company and Citizens Bank.

Workshop B
10:00am - 11:30am

"Thinking Out Of the Box
- Marketing Your Business to Diverse Organizations"

You've worked hard to be where you are, and you're proud that your business has done well by serving the needs of individuals in your community. However, you are now concerned that your sales have "flat-lined' and wonder if your firm can make the next step to becoming more profitable "outside" of the Hispanic community.

This workshop will explore how many businesses have successfully made this leap. You will be challenged to adjust your company's strategic planning so that it will be more "user-friendly" for not Latino markets. Mr. Andre Medina, President of Americas' Food Basket, will be one of our featured panelists.

Your desire to market your business to a wider audience is good, but having good information is a critical step in making it happen. During this workshop you will be provided with information from firms that have successfully marketed their business "outside" of the Hispanic community. The challenge of acting upon the information and taking your company in this direction will be yours.

Workshop C
10:00am - 11:30am

"Workplace Diversity - Managing a Multi-Cultural work Environment - Conflict Resolution, Human Resource Management & Effective Communication Skills"

Imagine if diversity became the key to the success of your organization rather than occurring as a problem you have to fix. Managing the complexities of cultural diversity in the workplace is a major challenge. The key to success is recognizing the benefits that people of different cultures bring to the workforce. This workshop will define diversity and make a case for its relevance.
